Credit Unions vs. Banks

I saw this last month and was intrigued. I know that there are debates about how to minimize bank fees but it seems like credit unions offer a pretty good alternative. I have not been with a bank for years and am surprised to see so many people still with them and their high fees.

yup
I agree with this article. I JUST made the switch from Wells Fargo to a credit union. They offer twice the amount of yeild that Wells Fargo does. Make the switch if you haven't already or, in your case, start an account. You can develop a relationship with them and they will be more likely to give you a chance over a commercial bank. Example: I had a 474 credit score and there wasn't a bank that wanted to even give me a secured loan. A loan officer from a C.U. talked to me about it and helped me. That was 5 years ago and now I have a credit score of over 700 because of them.
Hope this helps.
Credit Unions vs Banks
I totally agree.
Credit Unions are so much more personable and helpful. They don't nickle and dime you to death. There are no hidden fees or extra fees for this and that.
I also like the way I can e-mail a question and they reply in a day or so.
Credit Unions verses banks
I totally agree. My credit union is so wonderful. It's like banks were in the '50s. friendly, and personal. No nickel and diming you. They really care. You can even e-mail them and get a personal response.
