Save Money by Shopping at Thrift, or Second Hand Stores
Another great way to save money when shopping for things such as clothes, dishes, and other items is to check out a good second hand store first. These places usually have good stuff cheap. Don't be afraid of those second hand shoes. You can purchase a can of Lysol to spray into them to kill anything inside them. Underwear and any other things like this can be bleached in your washing machine. Regular clothes can be washed with a product such as Clorox 2 or another color safe bleach. This will kill anything that you are worried about.
If an item has missing buttons or a bad zipper, take them home and sew new buttons onto it or replace the zipper. Even a ripped seam can be fixed. On items such as coats, jackets, or anything that has a lining, this may be a little harder, but it can be done. Items such as button-down shirts, its easy to replace a button or fix a ripped seam. For jackets, find out from a Taylor how much it would cost to fix it. Sometimes it may only cost a few bucks to fix an item such as a jacket or a coat. And since winter coats can cost $40.00 or more, fixing a $3.00 or $4.00 winter coat may be cheaper depending on how much it would cost to fix it.
