Save money with unwanted items or broken things you use
Here's something you can do to make some money on that unwanted stuff. Instead of throwing it out in the trash, have yourself a yard, porch or garage sale. There are lots people out their that love to find things at a bargain, especially if they are antique things because they may be able to get something cheaper from you than they will at a store. And sometimes the stuff at a yard sale was made better than something new in a store.
If you have items that don't work and still would like to use it, before you go out a purchase a new one, find out how much it would cost to fix it. Sometimes its cheaper to fix something than it is to replace it. Sometimes its just a bad plug, cord or a blown fuse that has caused something to stop working. Replacement plugs and cords are cheaper than a new lamp. Replacing a blown fuse may just fix that item and make it work again.

Money from Unwanted Items
I know my issue is shopping for clothes and shoes. I've recently fallen in love with consignment boutiques...places that sell your clothes for you and they keep a portion of the profit and you do too. Takes the headache out of yard sales if that is not your thing. You don't get the full value of what you purchased the item for but anything back is a profit. Its good because the item would only have taken up space in your closet. If you don't mind gently used high quality items they are an excellent place to shop as well. I've also sold unwanted things on ebay.
