If you use a lot of battery operated devices, you may want to consider buying a battery charger or 2 and a couple sets of rechargable batteries. These batteres last a long time because when their power gets low or they go dead, you can put them in the battery charger, plug them in, and after a little while, they are as good as new. Some chargers can recharge the batteries in as little as 15 minutes when you need abtteries in a hurry. They can usually recharge 4 of them at one time. They usually come in AAA, AA, and sometimes 9 Volt sizes. When you buy a battery charger, make sure you can plug it into your vehicles power socket so you can recharge your batteries if you are on the go all of the time, as well as being able to plug it into your house or hotel room or where ever you happen to be. These batteries can save you lots of money in the long run because you won't have to run out and buy batteries every time your batteries go dead. They are especially good to have them for things like your digital camera(s) and things you use a lot. Make sure you purchase at least a couple sets of them. This way, when one set goes dead, all you have to do is switch the batteries. Then you can continue to do whatever it is you were doing while the dead batteries recharge.

When purchasing a device that has rechargable batteries built into them, such as an ipod or some MP3 Players, make sure you ask a sales rep. if you can replace the batteries once the batteries won't take a charge anymore. Even rechargable batteries go dead after awhile and won't recharge anymore. But that is usually guite a while if you use and recharge them properly.

One word of advice when you are using rechargable batteries and devices. You can recharge them at anytime. But every one in awhile, run them down completely. This will help to prevent them from getting a "memory". This is when the batteries recharge, but don't seem to take a full charge or last quite as long as they once did. They have to be run down completely every once in awhile. Also, don't leave them pluged in all of the time. Once they are recharged, unplug them. Leaving them pluged in after they have recharged can shorten their life. Only plug them in to recharge them. A good quality rechargable can hold their charge for quite awhile.

When making a purchase of a device such as a portable CD player, ipod, or such device, make sure it can be powered from mutiple power sources seperate from the batteries, such as an outlet in your house, or from your vehicles power socket. Make sure you also purchase the matching house and car adaptors to use with them. This way when you are sitting in your home reading or going someplace in your vehicle and want to use them, you won't always have to rely on the batteries for power. You can use your vehicles power socket or plug it into your houses power saving the batteries for when you are some place where there isn't power. Make sure you at least have a power adaptor for your kids so they can use their devices while you are on a trip. This way they won't run out of power all of the time and they won't be bugging you to buy them batteries every couple of hours when they go dead.
